It was wonderful to see everyone back on Tuesday, for a great start to Term 3 and the second half of the year. We had some staffing changes in the last few days of last term which occurred after our last newsletter.
We farewelled Mr. Nathan Adams (SSO) who was offered a full time contract at McLaren Vale Primary School and also, sadly, said goodbye to Mr. Kyal Bacon (SSO) who is stepping into the next stage of his career and studying a Bachelor Social Work at University. We wish them both every success for the future and know that their skills and professionalism will be appreciated by all those who are fortunate to work with them in the future.
We have also temporarily said good bye to Mr. Michael Sboro, who is acting in the Principal position at Noarlunga Downs Primary School. Michael had been acting as our Wellbeing Leader for the first half of the year and was a fantastic addition to the leadership team. Upon his return to Pimpala Primary School, he will resume his duties as our HPE teacher, with a busy schedule to complete the year. Mr. Henry Carey will continue in this role until then.
Mr. Richard Kemp will continue as a member of the leadership team for the remainder of the year as the acting Wellbeing Leader as our Deputy Principal Mrs. Belinda Finlay-Smith has returned from maternity leave. While this may seem like a lot of change, it is a positive reflection on our school culture that staff can move fluidly within the school in different positions, take responsibility and work cohesively as a team member. It is wonderful to be able to work as part of such a great team.
When have you worked as part of a team with someone amazing? What skills did they have that made the team so successful? If you have ever seen Pokemon, you would be familiar with the character Pikachu and his human companion Ash. Whenever Ash isn't around, Pikachu takes on a leadership position for the team. He is curious, smart, friendly, and very responsible.
We have a pair of Pokemon brand socks featuring Pikachu to give away to the first answer selected at random. Entries must be submitted by 9.30am this Friday July 31, 2020 to be considered for our lucky draw from the hat. You can email them to dl.1059.info@schools.sa.edu.au or drop them into the Administration Office.
Kind Regards
Penny Wilde
Principal
Three Way Interviews will be held in Week 2 of Term 3, 27th - 30th August.

Bookings closed on Friday, 24th August so if you are unable to make a booking on the system, you are still able to have an Optional Three Way Interview, but you will need to book your appointment time through the Administration Office.

The SRC came up with a fun way to finish Term 2 - a Crazy Hair Day!
What a way to finish the term on Friday, 3rd July! There were many creative and innovative styles on the day so congratulations to everyone who participated and demonstrated their fun and possibly dark side for some. For those who weren't brave enough to don a different do, it was still fun to see what everyone else was doing.
Proceeds from the day of $291.80 have been donated to the charity Puddle Jumpers, a non profit, non government organisation who support vulnerable children and their families. While this money was gratefully received, we would like to see more people giving money to participate on future special event days.
